Do You Put The Lights On The Tree First

We use two sets of white lights much to dh s dismay who would prefer naff coloured ones and do one from top to bottom around the centre of the tree and then another top to bottom going around and around the branches.
Do you put the lights on the tree first. You want the lights to look natural. The lights should be first to go on your tree. Begin at the base of the tree and weave the lights up through the branches to the top of the tree and back down to the base. Try to avoid any obvious pattern or spiral.
Divide your tree into 3 sections. Lights should be first you can t get the decorations on properly otherwise and see all the wires. Whether it s for outdoor christmas decorations or simply to give an outdoor space better ambience.
We have a neighbor that beautifully wraps several trees in her yard each year for christmas. Start at the bottom and work your way up. This light will shine on the star angel or snowflake that you will add later. Exception is tinsel which i think should go on before the lights its difficult to get the tinsel on after the lights without covering some of the bulbs which could be a hazard.
Each section will have its own lights. Before you start plug in the lights to checks if all the bulbs are working. Secure your light strands by weaving them in an out of the tree s branches. Leave them on while you work so you can see how they look on the tree.
I don t have tinsel though. Put your first light at the very top of the tree to begin. Lights on outdoor trees give a warm and cozy feeling. Plug them in and voila you ve seen the light.
Starting at the bottom string your lights around and through the tree in a random fashion. Move from the trunk to the tip and back again spreading them evenly across the branches covering both sides. Check they work first.
